Pessinous, the present village Ballıhisar, lies 13 km from Sivrihisar, a small town on the Ankara-Eskişehir road, at the junction with the Afyon-Izmir road. Sivrihisar can be reached from Ankara by all major bus lines to Eskişehir, Bursa, Izmir, Antalya, Pamukkale, Kütahya... You ask the bus driver to stop near Sivrihisar at the ‘dörtyol' (= junction). Then you take a taxi to Ballıhisar.

 

 

 

Travelling by car you follow the tourist signposts from the junction at Sivrihisar to Pessinous. In any case you have to pass under the Eskişehir-Ankara road.

 

As you arrive in Ballıhisar, keep left at the road fork and continue straight ahead across the bridge to the car park in front of the modern looking excavation house. To the right you find the Pessinus Research Centre in the old village school building.
